In this episode:
Often transitions in life can spring discontentment- moves, new babies, difficult work situation, hard things with kids. Sometimes it starts from comparison- if I just had her ability to eat whatever she wants and stay thin or just had that talent he has, I would be happy. In so many ways, our society breeds discontentment.
But really, so much of our discontent stems from unmet expectations in life and a lack of gratitude for what we do have!
In 1 Timothy 6:6-8, we read, “Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content.”
Philippians 4:11-13 tells us, “Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”
