Be Alert, Be Present!

Isaiah 43:19 I have been trying something a little new for me.   I have been listening to the Bible in The Message on Bible.com. So, this morning, while making chocolate chip cookies for our four grandboys, who are coming for a sleepover tonight, I turned on the app and began to listen.   Listening to TheContinue reading “Be Alert, Be Present!”

I invite you into____________.

So here is the thing: Our invitation to God reminds us He is near! It reminds us that God is right in the mix with us. And it gives God our full and complete submission to go to work.

Filling in the Gap!

I remember my college days.  I was young and impressionable, and although I had been educated for 12 or more years by then, I was green, naïve, and gullible.   It is true for all of us.   We think we know it all, and then we realize, well, maybe not!  This seems a rite of passage for so many of us.  Acting so informed yet being completely ignorant.

Aye Yai Yai!

Happy Tuesday! The spirit-filled life is a life that is full, abundant, overflowing and oh, SO good! Sadly, we also can be content in our sin and miss the good things God has for us. So, today let’s take a minute and let God speak to us about our lives. Let’s put our ear to the pavement and listen.

This is Going to Be Hard

Jeremiah 1 But God Will be With YOU! The book of Jeremiah is where I am in my Bible study today.  Jeremiah is known as the “weeping prophet.”  I recently heard a speaker say that in today’s language, we would call Jeremiah the DEPRESSED prophet.  I think he is right.  Poor Jeremiah!  He was a young and inexperienced man against the ENTIREContinue reading “This is Going to Be Hard”

A LOVE that STRETCHES

“The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers. Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4:7&8 The word disciplined in the above verse means calm, circumspect, or alert.  Some translations of the Bible useContinue reading “A LOVE that STRETCHES”

The Power of the Word

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one toContinue reading “The Power of the Word”

He’ll Be Coming in the Clouds!

16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. 17 Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up inContinue reading “He’ll Be Coming in the Clouds!”

Those Ancient Words

It’s Thursday, not Tuesday😉 He lets me rest in green meadows. Psalm 23:2a I am immersed in the Psalms as I prepare to teach a women’s Bible study.   Although I am not teaching on this one, one of my favorites is Psalm 23.  The timeless words, He lets me rest in green meadows, speak peace toContinue reading “Those Ancient Words”

…Because of Your WORDS!

This Scripture is often overlooked.  Why is this?  Probably it has to do with the fear and trepidation most of us have when it comes to reading, studying and understanding the book of Daniel.  Daniel and Revelation often get “overlooked” because we simply do not understand much of what is written in these two books.
